Edit a book's details

PocketShelf allows you to easily update the information for any book in your library. Whether you need to correct a typo in the title, update the page count, or change the cover image, you can do so from the Book Settings screen.

Accessing the Book Settings Screen

To edit a book, first navigate to its main detail page from your library. From there, tap the settings icon in the top-right corner to open the Book Settings screen.

Editable Book Details

On the Book Settings screen, you can modify several pieces of information to keep your library accurate:

  • Cover Image: Tap the Edit button below the current cover to upload a new image from your device.
  • Title & Author: Tap inside these text fields to correct or change the book's title and author's name.
  • Pages: Enter the correct First Page and Last Page numbers. This is crucial for accurate progress tracking.
  • Additional Info: You can update other metadata, including:
  • Book Type: Select whether the book is a Paperback or Hardcover.
  • Publisher: The company that published the book.
  • ISBN: The book's unique 10 or 13-digit identifier.
  • Description: Add or edit the summary of the book.

Saving Your Edits

Once you have finished making changes, tap the checkmark icon at the top-right of the screen to save your updates. To exit without saving, tap the X icon.

Tips for Editing

When you add a book by searching the online library, most details are filled in for you. However, you can still use the Book Settings screen to customize any information to your liking.
